He's a steady bat with good power. he could play left field. I think he has a few good years left in him.

His price would have to come down a whole lot from what he was being paid by the Yankees. I certainly wouldn't qualify him as a power hitter either. He's barely averaging 20 homers with that short right field porch in New York. How would he do playing in the much larger Ted?

Personally, I'd rather go after Adam Dunn. Yes, his average sucks. But he always has a high on base percentage and would be a legitimate #4 hitter between Chipper and McCann.

Much more likely than either of them is Raul Ibanez or Jermaine Dye. Ibanez would be simpler becuase he isn't under contract and is free to sign with anyone. But I read some report that the Braves were interested in Javier Vazquez and Dye from the White Sox, so who knows?

I just wish we would go ahead and pull the trigger on Peavy. I'm tired of hearing all the rumors and speculation.

Ibanez is gonna end up with the Mets. That's pretty much a given.
