I just think he looks soft. You know, kinda Chris Simms'ish. Other than that, he's playing good for a second year quarterback. He's also shown clutch play ability, so that's good.

The difference is that this poor/regressed/struggling Matt Ryan is still on course to complete a higher % of his passes for more yards and TDs and with a higher passer rating than YKW ever did.

Sorry I didn't mean to do this. Sorry if you misunderstood my intentions. This is not that type of party..

Nice post. I watched this thing on line and it just killed me when Ryan thew both the picks. They were absolutely gut wrenching because they happened at the absolute WORSE times. They led to 14 points but more importantly took away almost certain points for the red & black. I will say the playcalling is limiting Matt too. We have to come up with some more plays for Ryan and the recievers. Gonzo may be taking away from Ryans ability to look over his reads. I still cannot believe how much time goes by before we hit Roddy. He is relatively high percentage but goes away for stretches. Ryan will be an excellent QB no doubt but I think he needs to toughen up and hang in pocket better with more presence and awareness. Anyone betting against Ryan is gonna lose. Man do we have our work cut out for us against some damm good teams... Lets get er' done gents..!!!

Ryan deserves criticism like anyone in the NFL does for bad play. The thing that really gets under my skin is that people completely forget he was a rookie thrown into the starting role last season from the get go. Do you know how many QB's have been successful with that? **** Peyton Manning threw 28 INT's in his rookie season. 28!!! People need to remember Ryan has only played 1.5 NFL seasons and there are going to be growing pains. He is going to make bad throws, he is going to make mistakes, and he is going to learn from them. Expectations for him to be some MVP Pro Bowl type QB who isn't going to make mistakes in only his 2nd season in the NFL is ridiculous and unfair to Ryan in general.

I've heard ppl say tht Manning threw 28 ints his rookie season. Manning also threw 26 touchdowns. I dont think its fair to compare Ryan to Manning or brady at this point.I believe it rasies our expectation of him to high.

Ryan is not Peyton Manning but he will hopefully be the best MATT RYAN he can be.
