I'd say Brees is number 3 in the NFL. Of course, he probably does have the best catchers in the league though.

Brees is definitely NOT the best passer in the NFL. Peyton Manning is a better passer than Brees. Tom Brady - when in form - is a better passer than Brees. He's in the top 5 or 6 - but definitely not the best passer. Right now - Matt Schaub may even be giving him a run for his money.

He is an elite passer and a great leader for the Saints - but not the best passer in the NFL.

If I ranked players on passing ability - Manning and Brady would both be at the top over Brees.

Statistically, only based on completion percentage, It goes Manning, Roethlisberger, and then Brees. No doubt manning is a great QB, along with Brady, but this season, Brees is consistently putting the ball into very tight coverages, it's just my opinion, as is yours above. I would take Peyton, Brady, and Brees to run my offense and so would the rest of the league. Peyton and Brady are also averaging 4 and 7 more attempts than Brees per game respectively.

I used the word "Passer" not Quarterback. Manning, IHO, is the best Quarterback. But pure passer right now, Brees I believe has that. He can put that ball anywhere he wants, at just about anytime.

Just my opinion...

He has Colston and Lance Moore. Shockey and Henderson are overrated.

Brady has Moss, Welker

Peyton has Wayne, Clark.

Then Arizona has Fitzgerald and Boldin, not to mention his 3rd option is Breston.

i think whatever Smitty said in the locker room at halftime is what he always tells his players after a loss. we normally see them play with a tenacity after a loss that mirrored that of the second half.

Saints weren't and are not the top passing team. Their running game is rated higher than the passing game. #1 offense, yes.

agreed they are the top offense, very impressive, who do we have that can cover shockey? that was a problem as well as brees accuracy, he fit some passes in some tight spots, kudos to him
lets look forward to the next time we play them in our house

Shockey is overrated? That's laughable.

He is overrated... He has been hurt most of his career, it's just a matter of time before he gets a bruise on his hand and is put on IR

and yet the # 1 passing team in the NFL only out did the Falcons by 10 yards

Net yards passing Saints 291 Falcons 281

net rushing yards Falcons 161 Saints 146

They stopped passing as much in the second half because they were up. Ball control and clock management

Let's not forget that Jammal Brown has been out off-season. Two members of our draft class--Stanley Arnoux and Chip Vaughn--are out for the season while Jenkins has been hurt. That's 75% of this year's draft class not being able to contribute. Kendrick Clancy had missed four games. Moore missed four games. We've lost our 5th WR to IR. Billy Miller to IR. Heath Evans to IR. Sedrick Ellis as you said. Scott Fujita has been out. Those are significant injuries. And the last two weeks, we have had to overcome bad starts and 9 turnovers to win against two teams (Falcons and Dolphins) who are going to be fighting for wildcard spots. Pierre Thomas and Mike Bell have both missed games. We have had our share of adversity. But we have been able to overcome it.

14 of the games that the Saints and Falcons play are the same. Now, for the games that are different, one could argue it is a big difference. We play the Rams while you guys played the Niners. And we played the Lions whereas the Falcons play the Bears. But you guys beat both teams, so the difference has been, at best, neglible.

Yeah but we played/play NE, Dallas, NYJ, NY Giants, on the road, you play them at home! That's not even considering how we got completely screwed on the bye weeks... The Aints schedule is no where near as difficult as ours and to say otherwise is just a complete lie. Can you guys admit to anything? I haven't been on the boards since we lost Monday but I'm sure you think you stomped us, right? SMH... at you Aints fans.
