I don't understand those of you who say you will be happy with 9 wins. Back to back winning seasons? Who cares? 9 wins won't get us into the playoffs - isn't that what our first goal should be?
What a game last night, but it almost seems to me that we play to the competition. We need consistency. I thought last night we played one of our best all around games this season. Yes we got screwed on some bad calls, but if we play like we did last night EVERY GAME for the rest of the season, we just might finish 13-3!
Although injuries and lack of elite talent at the corner positions are a big problem when it comes to consistency, it is all part of the game and we need to persevere!!!
GO FALCONS!!

we can still be a playoff team. people are freaking out but we all knew that we had a tough schedule especially to start the year and we have some good home games later on. This team will be right there in the end.

It's really easy to have the knee jerk "sky is falling" reaction to a loss. It is far tougher to take a step back and realize that we have a great coaching staff and a group of talented youngsters who are (I believe) going to show marked improvement as the year goes on.

Why do you care what other people think? Too much time on your hands?

Whatever man, back to back winning seasons is important and that's part of being consistent. Unless you have a crystal ball, you don't know if 9 wins will be enough or not being as we haven't even reached the halfway point of the season yet. Who knows who does or doesn't take a dive in the second half of the season. If we make it to the playoffs, odds are that will take care of the no B2B winning regular season burden. By default you made the argument for B2B winning seasons being a key priority by even talking playoffs.

i think we will go 10-6, MAYBE 11-5.... why? because after the redskins game we are at midseason and the hardest part of our schedule is behind us and we visit carolina tampa and ny twice, if we win every game at home and win 2 of those 4 on the road we will win 11

9 wins breaks a 43 year old curse, one that has been hanging over Falcons fans since day one. 9 wins destroys the perception that our franchise will always be bad with the occasional winning season here and there.
With all the injuries we have had this year and a relentless schedule and playing 4 teams off their bye week 9 wins is certainly good enough for me.

9 wins give us something NO falcons team has EVER done before. Even if we won a superbowl or somehow went to the playoffs at 8-8 if we never break this curse their will always be a cloud of negativity hanging over this franchise.

Break this curse now and keep building towards a superbowl.

Which 4 games are we supposed to be satisfied with losing?

Swept by the Saints?
Maybe on the road against the Panties or Sucs?
Against filthadelphia at home?

I am not ready to concede even one more loss this season.

I understand what you're saying, but as cliche as it is. This is a process. I want to finish 13-3, but I will be content with anything 9-7 or better. It builds a winning mentality. Another year these players have in our systems; then another year in the draft and free agency, adding more pieces.

Man, we are still in the PROCESS.It won't be the end of the world if we don't make the Playoffs. It will be nice if we have a winning season, it will change a 44 year history.

We'll be contenders very soon.Just WAIT.

I think that the Falcons played a hard good game last night and deserve a lot of credit for holding the team to the amount of points that they did, no one else has done that, and I agree that if we play like we did last night without giving up we can make it to 13-3. But there has to be some better personnel coverage.....

I don't put too much thought into what our final record will be until we get to the end of the season.

All I care about is the next game at this point. We are playing good football, I think we have a great chance to keep winning. We need to tighten a few things up, but football is a game of constant improvement... we just have to keep fighting to get better and good things will happen for this team. We have the right coaches and a great group of players.

If you're not flat out inspired by Coy Wire's effort at the end of a game that looked like it was over, I don't know what can inspire you. This team has a ton of fight in it and we're going to finish strong.

Given our schedule 9-7 was a basic goal, with the idea that it could easily be improved on.
