You're incorrect about the fan support. Fan support has always been good -- even in the 3-13 Ditka years the Saints still had sellouts. Seats weren't empty except in the 2005 year when they played no home games ("home" games were in Baton Rouge or San Antonio or New Jersey). Benson wasn't threatening to move the team because of lack of fan support, he was threatening to move the team in order to get a new stadium to make more money from suites and PSLs, even though he had a sweetheart deal where the State paid him guaranteed money to stay.

(I've just arrived back home from New Orleans, so I'm just now reading these posts.)

For the above comment: Oh, please!!! This has got to be the biggest load of bull-sheet [sic] ever presented!!!

I am a Falcons season ticket holder who have gone to 10 of the last 12 Falcons-Saints game in New Orleans (not counting the 2005 season) prior to this last Monday night's game. On all too many of those games I was able to get good seats in the Louisiana Superdome directly from the Saint's ticket office. I've attended Saints games where estimating the stadium being half full was charitable. And now that the Saints currently have a half-way respectable team – right on schedule the "Life Long" Saints fans are crawling out from under their rocks proclaiming their "undying" loyalty.

I love going to the Crescent City for these game; I will be the first to point out that the vast majority of Saints fans are decent people who have been quite friendly with me and now have every right to be happy for their team. But I don't much like having my intelligence insulted. Everyone may be entitled to their own opinions, but no one is entitled to their own facts.

Good grief!

WHO CARES about the Saints and their fans!!!!!

We gave them a he** of a game in their place so I'm looking forward to round 2 in ours.

As Falcon faithful lets just concern ourselves with things that are related to OUR team.

;)

haha fair enough, saints fans are just still frustrating me on this board

Falcon fans have to be the most annoying fanbase I've ever encountered. I can remember traveling to the Falcons/Saints game in Atlanta in 2001. ATL was FILLED with Saints fans and we practically took over the ENTIRE upper section of the Georgia dome with our yellow T-Shirts (can't repeat what was printed on them).

It's well known throughout the league the verocity of Saints fans have for their team. It's well known thoughout the league that Atlanta is a lower tier Pro sports city as far as fan base that doesn't support in bad years.

It's quite useless to keep trying to degrade a fanbase as well known as the Saints. It's common knowledge and baffles me some Falcon fans would even try to deny it. If you want to keep doing it to make yourselves look like serious tools...be my guest.

In 2004 I received a postcard, then a phone call, from the Saints ticket office begging me to buy tickets for our game down there. That crappy old piece of crap (granted it's better after the 2006 renovations) was maybe 1/2 full. Falcons fans were about 40% of those in attendance.

In 2006, I called the Saints ticket office to see about group seats not long after the game was announced. I was told they weren't doing group seats yet but encouraged me to get as many season tickets as I wanted to. So I ended up getting a bunch. Actual SAINTS fans didn't get that interested by Brees, it was Bush's selection that led to the Superdome finally being sold out as season tickets for the first time.

So years later I still make money off your bandwagon fans = awesome. :D

Oh might I add that even after reaching the NFCCG in 2006 many of your "loyal" fans didn't renew, the Saints ticket office called me offering ADDITIONAL season tickets for 2007.

There is always a small % of ppl that dont renew. That doesnt prove anything. You guys are just jealous that nobody is talking about the falcants period. All I have seen the past two weeks is whining about everything saints related. The jealousy is hysterical. The only reason the georgia dome will not be packed with redskin fan this sunday is b/c they stink but I'm sure there will still be enough to make some noise. Get ready for a black and gold takeover on December 13th. I am sure most of you cant wait.

Well the announcers were just searching for a story line like they always do for every game, and Katrina is a great one, especially with the Saints playing so well this year.

This is laughable. The only reason Saints had "sellouts" was because they forced out of town fans, opposing teams' fans if you will, to buy tickets to several games.

For instance, if you were from GA and tried to buy tickets to a Saints/Falcons game, if they saw your area code was from out of town (404, 770, etc) they would only sell you a ticket in a multi-game package which included another team that no one wanted to see play (like Saints/Houston or Saints/Seahawks).

In other words, they would get two tickets sold for every one out of towner wanting to attend a game. It was and still is a ploy to sell tickets to games that no one wanted to see.

But to imply that these "sellouts" were due to Saints fan support is simply a lie.

Furthermore, there was a ton of talk BEFORE Katrina about Benson moving the team to San Antonio permanently. Appearantly, that is where he owns a bunch of car dealerships or something. You don't believe me? Well how else would an out-of-town, hate the Saints and everything about them, diehard Falcons fan like myself know anything about the Saint's owner's businesses if it wasn't something that was discussed?

Sounds more like petty jealousy by a little man with a little mind to match calling himself the voice of reason.
Feel free to hate the Saints and their fans....Oh, and their season ticket waiting list. ;)

So I guess your fellow fans are also jealous?

You realize, don't you, that you made absolutely no sense. Even your own fans have corroborated my assertions. Who's the one with the little mind now?

Go home now boy, this discussion was for adults.
