SMH at you trying to pass those plays off as "real football". From what I've seen real football hasn't been played at UGA all year so I wouldn't expect you to know the difference...

  No the problem is that real honest football has been play at Georgia and a lot of the other Collages in the SEC and Fla. is not use to seeing it so when it happens they don't understand what it is. It says a lot about the team and the Collage when the alumni keep their mouth shut when crap like what spikes did is not disciplined properly.

Unless the hit was in the parking lot an hour after the game....I don't want to here about it. <_<

Making excuses for an inexcuseable act doesn't fly with me. I'm sure there were some calls that should have been made against the Dawgs and the Gators that didn't get called. But trying to compare that to what Spikes did, just makes Meyer look even worse.

http://www.youtube.c...feature=channel Funny no Flag on the play guess the Ref's were out to get the Gators huh CAP

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=J70hiH45qN0 Flag on the play while it was illegal it is a hit that happens a lot in football games.

http://www.youtube.c...feature=channel OOPS wait again no flag on the play darn the mean ref's picking on them poor gators and not throwing flags.

Hey cap really you need to write Urban an tell him to send Spikes back to helmet strapping 101 he either failed it or skipped it. But then education of football players is not really important at FLA no way.

Oh it's indeed ridiculous and a complete failure.

That first video where Spikes helmet comes off...It looks like it just fell off man. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't able to strap up his helmet or if it just doesn't fit as it should with all that hair.

The helmet coming off isn't the main issue (although chin shots aren't allowed), it's the guy afterwards that hits him intentionally in the head and actually poked his eye (not attempted to) that's the issue. But really at this point, it's Thursday, two days before another game day--time to move on...

"That should have been a penalty, in my opinion," Meyer said. "Obviously, it should have been. You've got to protect quarterbacks. That's the whole purpose. It's right in front of the referee. I'm not sure how they're going to handle that, but ... that was one of the plays we did send in."

Meyer may catch a fine for complaining after Slive sent out that memo, i doubt seriously he would suspend Meyer. The SEC has to do something though, the precedent was set, gotta enforce the rule now.

well it will be interesting now that Kiffin is responding to the matter. He is already stating that everyone got the same memo.

meyer broke a rule set last week and voted on, but as we have said meyer answers to no one. so nothing will happen even though he called out the refs.. kiffin's comments:

Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin seemed skeptical that Florida coach Urban Meyer would be severely punished for his recent criticism of the SEC's much-maligned football officials.

"Urban Meyer?" Kiffin deadpanned following practice Wednesday when asked of Meyer's comments. "Criticized the officials, wow, that will be interesting. We'll see."

The SEC sent out a memo to member schools and media that threatened coaches with fines and suspensions if they publicly criticized officials.

Asked if Kiffin was under the impression that the public criticism was supposed to stop, he said, "You guys got the same memo that I got."

More than just flagged IMO...

More than just flagged? On what grounds? It's a personal foul roughing the passer late hit call - plain and simple, 15 yards... what more is there than to flag him?

Meyer's just a bit upset that Spikes didn't actually gouge out the eyeballs.

there are no grounds at all for anything more than a 15 yard penalty..

Couldn't watch the last video because it was removed. But come on man. This is football. None of those was cheap shots. The James can be argued. But he was running and look like only one foot was out of bounds. LB coming full speed. He hit him in the face. Perhaps an accident or maybe on purpose.

Oh yeah. That was a late hit hit. But using Cap logic, maybe they did that because they saw what Spikes was doing to their teammates.

None were cheap shots? What? Uh, no all were dirty plays and that's the point. Junk happens during FB games which is why I think the Spikes incident was overblown to begin with.

James can't be argued, it was a flagrant facemask. Spikes getting hit in the face and actually getting his eye poked wasn't an accident. There's no way anyone will ever tell me that a guy on the outside of the pile gets hit in the head with no helmet on unintentionally.

Nick Williams saw Tebow handoff, Tebow was just standing there. Williams loaded up and took a cheapshot on Tebow. I love how now there are degrees of cheap shots when UGA's are exposed. Just goes to prove what I've said all along, it's a witch hunt pure and simple...

the tebow hit was way before the Spikes incident
