It's real simple and as a mod you should fully realize this.
This message board is setup so ANYONE with any FREE email account can sign up and post here in under 5 mins.
When you have those conditions you are simply asking for a ton of trolling, spam, and non sense like all the negativity we get after a loss.
The noise to good post ratio would be ALOT better if new users had to wait 48 hrs to post and new users had to have 100 posts to create a new thread.
These are pretty simple things that can be put in place that would seriously reduce the amount of spastic noise we get all the time and it would not require any additional work from the mods.
Why can't something like that be done? Why has this issue been ignored so long?
Also for a start why aren't the user ratings being enforced? If a person has a -200 rating they should probably either be banned or suspended for a short time.
The biggest problem with enforcing in any way shape, form or fashion is there are posters who have been here forever and a day have mostly good things to say but are not liked by others and have a rather large negative rating. The rating systems is just a personality contest. If others like you you in good shape if not oops your in trouble.

Should we limit the amount of new threads you can start in a day? I'm not sure the org would go for that, but what would be an acceptable #?
There are 20 forums here 19 if you don't count pure football. To limit members to a numbers of post total would not be right. Lots of them post many times a day in the others forums that have nothing to do with negative comments about the TEAM

I agree. But in training camp more threads are popular as more news is prevalent. Thats why I say 3-5
First are we talking about Threads started or posts in threads. Think about it if you could only post 3-5 posts within threads is a little much. Now if you could limit the number of Threads started with in a certain forum that is a different story.
But if you limit members to a certain number of post period how would that be fair to members who post in other forums and not just Talk About the Falcons.
I would like to see things like you have to wait a week after signing up to post. That would eliminate the trolls from other boards coming in and posting negative comments the week before we play their team.
Also maybe something from the Mods end that puts a temporary ban with a warning to the person, on someone who continually starts negative threads after a game we lose. The reason I said a warning is I have seen threads lately wondering why when someone gets a ban and they are they not told why. I also think the explanation should come from something titled the Mods or Admins of the board and not a specific mod. That way it doesn't appear to becoming from the mod who enforced the ban, not that they are afraid or anything just help to keep down hard feelings.
Most of the time if people would adopt the 24 hours after a loss logic and not post till they calm down I think it might get better. To many threads started after a lose based on emotion rather then waiting till they claim down. We all get emotional after a lost especially one like the Saints game that was so close and a division rival.
