Ok, part of this is projection, but lets look at his stats from 2008:

1382 yards

7 TD's

So far, through seven games, he is on pace for 13-15 TD's and with a slight drop off in yards (I would guess 1150-1200 this year) and First Downs (I would guess he gets 55 this year compared to 61 last year).

His average this year is about 14.7 yards / catch compared to 15.7 last year.

So, does the increase in scores make up for less yards and first downs? I am going to say yes because we are shifting our first downs to Gonzo, even if Gonzo is taking away some of his potential Touch Downs, White is still a better Red Zone threat.

What do you think? Better is scoring more important than yards? Present your case.

Roddy is the best WR in the NFL. He is continually making fools out of top flight corners since the 9ers game. I pray to God that I get to see him toast DeAngelo Hall....

I would like to see that as well. I do fear De-Hall starting fights though. Last year he seemed to know he made a mistake by getting traded. I dont know if he gets that this years. Seems a little cocky again...

Actually in all the interviews I have seen he seems humbled by his experience the last couple of years, but I can't stand the guy so I'm hoping he lines up 1v1 on Roddy this weekend a few times.

If he drops off in yards but adds more touchdowns then so be it. Scores are better than yards.

That is how I see it. But, lets say he has 17 TD's and only 960 yards. Was his season a flop?

he has shown improvement IMO and that improvement is consistency. he is being used differently this year but is taking advantage when given the opportunity

I have noticed a lot of hitches this year which he has turned into good gains. I also see him block, a lot. A lot of "premier" WR's dont do that.

Not at all, 17 scores is amazing. That's a pro bowl bid right there.

His numbers could start going up the second half of the year since our schedule is a little less difficult and we're clicking more on offense.

One of my favorite things about Roddy is his blocking skills. I believe he was a state champion in wrestling during high school.

EDIT:

White attended James Island High School (now James Island Charter High School) in Charleston, South Carolina, and was a three-sport letterman and standout in football, baseball, and wrestling. In football, he broke every school career receiving record, was a two-time All-Low Country honoree, a two-time All-State honoree, and was also listed as one of the top receivers in the nation on Rivals.com. In wrestling, he was a two-time state champion often pinning his opponent in a move that was coined the "Shanaz".

last years #s

88 rec 1,382 yds 7 TD 15.7 ypc avg

what he's on pace for

85 rec 1,241 yds 14 TD 14.6 ypc avg

he's finding the endzone more often and he's putting up all of these numbers with a guy that's on pace to catch 75 balls for 900 yds next to him. that's not even mentioning the fact that jenkins is on pace for 50 balls for 660 yds.

pretty good production.

WOW! I never even checked Jenks stats. Those are pretty good for a number two / three WR!
