Looks like he just got the boot so:

  • Like every player released or possibly on the trading block, someone needs to say "Bring him home!"
  • This guy is young and still has loads of potential.
  • Might have gotten the boot due to changes in their defensive scheme
  • He's tiny, which is apparently what TD loves
  • Scouting report sounds like he is right up our alley
  • Our roster isn't complete until we have a dozen corners

Quote

Track speed and exceptional jumping ability. ... Strong for his size, he's one of the few small corners with a decent bubble. ... Changes directions quickly and sticks to receivers. ... Reads the quarterback well and will come off his man to make a play. ... Will plant and drive to the ball -- and make the play (13 career interceptions). ... Good reaction to the tipped ball. ... A threat to take interceptions back to the end zone. ... Very aggressive cut blocker against the run (70 solo tackles in '07, five forced fumbles in ?06). ... Can also get off a receiver block to wrap up a ballcarrier in the open field. ... Typical Tampa-2 corner... Very good special teams coverage player.

We have plenty of small corners. IMO...We need taller more physical corners....Why haven't we picked up Chris McAllister?

Bring'em Home TD!!! lol j/k : D

I dunno i don't think we'd need him anyways. Especially since we all know new players will have to understand the scheme and this and that and probably won't play till the later half of the season.

Like anyone else I would like the 6'2" 205 pound corner, but we haven't brought in a single guy 6 feet or taller. I think they look for the smaller guy, because I haven't seen anything to make me think otherwise.

I dunno, he was supposed to be healthy about two months ago or something. No team has really given him a sniff which is surprising. Heck, even Ty Law has been signed.

We have also not been big on bringing old big name vets in. Usually just guys you barely heard of.

He was in theory his replacement. I think they were planning on letting Fox walk or trade him and this guy was supposed to fill in. I'm guessing new defensive scheme means he is no longer needed.

If he reminds you of Grimes or Houston, we don't need him. Sorry.

I'm sure if he could find a 6'2 corner that could run a 4.4, he'd sign him right up lol.

Broncos just picked up the 90 year old Ty Law. The problem is this team has a ton of B level projects. It's more or less a crapshoot to pick up a freeagent at this point. The stats ignore the pass rush and type of defense so I don't know much about the guy's ability but since they needed to pick up Ty Law that does not say much about him being a starter. The other bad thing about picking up a guy now is he may not even start until Week 12 or so.

Yes. He would be great in Atlanta. I was politicking for him when KC let him go, and so did a good bit of the board. He's on the Texans now.

"Bernard Pollard-DB- Texans Nov. 5 - 2:55 pm et

The Texans are allowing a meager 58.2 rushing yards per game since Bernard Pollard took over as the starting strong safety in Week 4.
They had surrendered 205.0 rushing yards per game in the first three weeks of the season. While the front-seven deserves much of the credit for the dramatic turnaround, Pollard has brought a hard-hitting style to the secondary. The Texans can thank the Chiefs (No. 30 in total defense), who decided they no longer needed Pollard just prior to the season."

He can't cover a dang thing, but he is one heck of an in the box SS. I was thinking someone would have picked him up on waivers (mainly Atlanta, but I didn't think DeCoud was ready).

Also, I feel like I'm talking to kindergartners because I can't swear on here

Jack Williams was Denvers nickel cb and he really struggled this season. He had a pretty bad game against the Ravens last week. Flacco targeted him with success all game.

Maybe he would benefit from a change of scenery but overall I wasn't impressed with him.

It's too early to tell for a guy like that. Basically like Chevis: mid rounder last year who hasn't had a lot of playing time. Can't imagine we would cut Chevis already, bad game or not (Olsen in for a TD for example).
