On NFC Playbook on NFL Network, Joe Theisman, Baldinger, Sterling Sharpe was talking about how bad Matt Ryan has been playing. How dare they!!! They didn't say one nice thing about Matt Ryan. Don't they know Ryan is only in his 2nd year?
So does this make them Vick huggers cause they were criticizing Matt Ryan?

I like Matt Ryan but see no problem in saying that he's been real bad lately in the passing game. However there is a difference between being a realist and saying he's doing bad to being an kneejerk reactionist and saying he needs to be benched.

Matt will turn it around. :)

Nobody cares about Vick anymore. He is Mr. Irrelevant.

The only significant item that's seriously disappointing is that someone took the NFL Playbook comments and tried to turn it into a Vick related post.

Forrest Gump..is that you?

Let's face it. The truth is that Matt Ryan has been playing badly and it's not a problem for experienced NFL commentators to say it/talk about it/discuss it/criticize Matt for this poor performance. That doesn't make them anything but honest. There is NO DOUBT that they all know Matt is a 2nd year player; however, that doesn't give Matt a free pass on failing to perform up to expectations and what we believe to be his ability.

Let's give the Vick related crap a break and try and keep that Phila Eagle personality off of TATF, regardless of what feeble excuse you might make to pimp for Vick on these boards.

We can love Matt Ryan and his potential and STILL be critical of his sub-par performance in the games since the San Francisco game. All of the greatest QB's have proven that they can overcome momentary sub-par performances and rise to the occasion when their teams needed it the most. It's time for Matt to step up.

Huge difference between qualified football media types (who have also praised Ryan when he played well) commenting on Ryan's poor play of late and some of the usual suspects on this MB who seem to actually enjoy Ryan's poor performances.

Even Stevie Wonder could see that difference.

Well I guess Stevie Wonder has better sight than most of the posters on these boards.

They don't constantly bring up Mike Vick because the 3rd string QB is irrelevant. Vick huggers inject his name into any conversation. It's an obsession with a has been they can't seem to break.

At this point in time, to mention Vick is nothing more than a Crutch.

The Joey Harringtons of Broadcasting if you will.

I read that too fast at first and thought you said "Crotch."

Then I laughed about the name Ron Mexico.

Then I had another shot of Maker's Mark.

than 90 % of what you have to put up with in the Networks.

Nectar of the Gods my brother. I work for a magazine that has their ads in it all of the time. I keep telling the publisher that if ever gets the urge to pay me off in MM he'll get no protest from me.

Well I'm glad I like both of em.

There are many on this board that are still suffering from Vick/Ryan issues. Shameful.

I'm pretty sure everyone "got it"...

My guess is that you've been trashing Ryan? Probably got some backlash b/c you have 2 pictures related to Vick in your sig? Only reason I can think of that you would try to befriend the troll that's been spamming the boards. Thing is this guy is not like you... his name used to be "RyanVickFan", only last week or so did he change it.. At least we know you have never liked Ryan.

Most of us who are fans of the Falcons and Matt Ryan don't have a problem with him being criticized. We know he is not at his best right now. What we have a problem with is the constant flow of idiotic "bench Ryan" "Draft a new QB" "Ryan is as good as he's going to get" threads.
Vick is totally irrelevant, the fact that you bring his name up at all on an Atlanta Falcons site is what makes people suspect you of being one of his "huggers".
I wish Mike Vick well but after the way he betrayed this franchise and it's fans, his name should never ever be mentioned here again. He's history. Good riddance.

Vick Granted he was the most consistent/best QB in falcon history IMO, is the past.

I was a vick fan, but I'm an even bigger Ryan fan...the guy did seriously dig a huge hole for himself lately with those INTS, we can only cross our fingers and hope he can keep his poise, and make better decisions. Still his potential is vast and he WILL pass vick as our alltime QB, and if we can get him better linemen and a real WR for a #2 instead of God aweful michael junkings he could be a force.

He does need to step up though, seriously.

The problem with your statement is that you don't actually have to mention Vick for him to come up.

Just say that you don't think Matt Ryan is on a path to become the best QB to ever lace up a pair of cleats and you'll have people coming out of the woodwork to throw Vick stuff on the table because clearly stating what is statistically obvious (that Ryan is just a middle of the pack QB) is indicative of having a preference for a former QB that's not coming back...

Vick isn't coming back. That door is closed. Most people realize that. Stating that Ryan is playing poorly or is overrated (See comparisons to Manning that STILL continue) has absolutely nothing to do with Vick or Schaub or Joey or Redman.
