Why are the things that coach Smith saying will be "corrected" are still chronic problems? Things such as interior run defense and cornerbacks who will not turn their heads to make a play on balls in flight and other problems are aways stated to be corrected but aren't. I have faith in him but "corrected" is becoming a cliche at this point.
Why wasn't a kicker signed to the practice squad to put the fear of being released in Jason Elam? Missing crucial kicks in close is not a this year phenomenon. As you recall, prior to the game winning kick against Chicago last year, Elam missed what amounted to be an extra point in field goal distance to allow the Bears the chance to go ahead. With Elam costing us arguably 2 victories, why risk the inevitable next bad miss to cost the team another game?
Why does Matt Ryan's arm seem weaker than last year? In the offseason Ryan professed to work on increasing his arm strength yet when he throws the deep out pattern his passes float rather than zip. When he threw the Hail-mary in the Saints game, he could not even get the ball to the endzone from 55 yards away. Could Matt have some arm problem that the team is not divulging?
Why was Chauncey Davis signed to a multimillion-dollar contract to be virtually invisible? Given the 20 million dollar contract extension for Jenkins and the 14 million dollar signing of Davis, is the heavy-hand check writing of Rich McKay again rearing its ugly head?
Why was Chris McAllister good enough for the Saints but not the Falcons? Why is Chris Houston still starting? If he is because he is one of the best we have, then again, why was McAllister not deemed good enough in comparison or for that matter an aged Ty Law? Are either worse options based upon observation?
